Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of every girl and young woman in Y.WEF is our highest priority. We are committed to creating a respectful, inclusive, and protective environment across our digital community, mentorship, and events.

Our commitment

Y.WEF serves participants aged 12–21. We take a zero-tolerance approach to harassment, exploitation, bullying, discrimination, and any form of abuse.

All programme activity — online and in person — should feel safe, supportive, and age-appropriate.

Mentorship and adult contact

Mentors and adult facilitators are expected to maintain professional, appropriate boundaries.

Communications should stay on official programme channels where possible. Private one-to-one contact with minors should involve parental awareness and programme oversight.

Digital community conduct

Participants should treat one another with kindness and respect.

Do not share another person’s personal details without consent.

Report anything that feels unsafe, inappropriate, or concerning — including messages, images, or behaviour that makes someone uncomfortable.

Events and summit

In-person gatherings such as the Y.WEF Annual Summit will follow clear supervision, check-in, and welfare arrangements appropriate to the age of attendees.

Parents and guardians of under-18 participants will receive practical safeguarding information before events where applicable.

How to raise a concern

If you or someone you know feels unsafe, or if you need to report a safeguarding concern, contact the Y.WEF Global Secretariat (London) through WEF / ALL official channels at wef.org.in, marking your message “Y.WEF Safeguarding”.

In an emergency, contact local emergency services first.
